Soil protozoa that eat bacteria
Soil protozoa feed on bacteria in soil keeping bacterial communities growing and releasing nitrogen in plant available forms around roots. This active ciliate was stained with flourescein dye, then visualized with Differential Interference Contrast Microscopy.
